Celia Marco has become one of Spain's most promising footwear designers. Born in Elda in Alicante, she grew up in the world of shoes, inheriting a footwear factory from her father, where she is now chief designer.
Though ably trained in fashion, design, patterning, stylism and photography, Celia Marco did not make her wholesale entry into the footwear industry until 2002. Her first collections were for the Spring-Summer 2004 season and made their début at the Madrid Fashion Week, where she provided shoes for the women's wear collections presented by Juan Duyos, David Delfín and Angel Vilda. Her work with Juan Duyos, which has continued in subsequent seasons, has contributed to her current success.
Celia Marco's designs are striking for their colour, comfort and combinations of different trends. Meticulous attention to detail and putting the shoe first, rather than relegating it to the realms of pure accessory, are two key brand values.
To date, Celia Marco's collections have primarily made their name out of Spain. Her key global priorities are now USA, Japan, Australia and North Europe, where her designs can be found at specialist retailers like United Arrows or American Rag.
